Abstract
The key question in a burglary prevention effort, of course, is, did it have any effect. In Hartford, Connecticut, such a program showed a reduction in burglary, while another in Chicago showed a marginally significant reduction in overall criminal victimization (Fowker 1979, Chapter 5; Fowler and Mangione 1982; Rosenbaum, Lewis, and Grant 1986, p. 123).
