2.1 μm Holmium:YAG Arthroscopic Laser Surgery: Prospective Report of 100 Cases

Abstract

This report describes a prospective study of 100 consecutive arthroscopies using the 2.1 μm holmium:YAG laser compared to a retrospective analysis of 100 conventional arthroscopies with the same procedural mix. Included in each group were 43 acute meniscectomies, 27 meniscectomies for chronic pain, 13 lateral releases, 4 plica resections, and 4 adhesion resections. Also included were 9 subacromial shoulder decompressions.
