Abstract
This paper will discuss aspects of professional culture known to address clinical decision making [1] and aspects of science that impact on the practice of professionals [2] in order to examine how these elements can be combined and addressed in the Computerized Health Record (CHR). The overall goal of this process is to better understand how professional decisions utilize data. This will allow the designers of the CHR to optimize the displaying, indexing, and storage of data to enhance the decision making of the various professionals who will utilize the CHR.
