Part of the book series: Probability and Its Applications ((PA))

Abstract

We now apply the method of bounded variation to random number generators. We shall prove that under certain conditions on τ, the variation of the fixed point of the Frobenius-Perron operator is small. This is of interest when we want to have a uniform density, such as in the design of random number generators.
