Abstract

Giving health care to others places us in special situations not always addressed by our formal professional training. Sometimes we confront an apparent “no-win” choice and are expected to do difficult, even morally questionable, things such as take risks, withhold the truth, withhold “textbook” care, or disregard a statement of preference to do our jobs properly.
