Other Benign Conditions of the Testis and Scrotum

Abstract

This chapter covers a diverse group of benign scrotal abnormalities. Some are extratesticular in location (hydrocele, hematocele, hernia, spermatocele, epididymal cyst, scrotolith), and others are intratesticular (simple cyst of the testicle, cyst of the tunica albuginea, tubular ectasia of the rete testis, testicular microlithiasis). Recognition of some of these conditions as nonsurgical abnormalities has a significant impact on patient management.
