Abstract

In this chapter we will develop the concepts of oscillatory motion. When a block attached to a spring is set into motion, its position is a periodic function of time. Similarly, in Chapter 7 when we considered the motion of a particle rotating in a circle, we saw that the position coordinates were oscillatory functions of time.
