Abstract

At first, it is a good idea to do all your formatting in a single file. Later, you will probably want to split your document up into segments that can be stored in several files. Latex can process them one at a time as you develop the document. When you’re done, Latex can process the set of files as a unit. The procedures for separating a manuscript into multiple files with virtual unification are detailed in the Appendix, Chapter A.
