Abstract
From its very inception, the theory of normal families has met with a wide range of applications. We have already encountered how it can be employed to prove such theorems as those of Picard, Schottky, Vitali-Porter, Lindelöf, and Julia. These were amongst its first uses, but there soon developed other fundamental applications to which we address ourselves here.
