Abstract
All drugs are administered to the body in some type of dosage form that consists of the active ingredient plus other inactive components, commonly known as excipients. The objective of the pharmaceutical formulator is to prepare a convenient-to-administer, aesthetically acceptable dosage form that presents an accurate and precise amount of a physically and chemically stable drug that is made available in the body in a predictable and reproducible manner.
