Abstract
In the fall of 1910, the Hungarian Academy of Science announced the award of its second Bolyai Prize “to David Hilbert, who by the profundity of his thought, the originality of his methods, and the rigorous logic of his demonstrations has already exercised considerable influence on the progress of the mathematical sciences.”
