Abstract
In an effort to respond to the market’s desire for more efficient delivery of service, the healthcare industry is undergoing drastic reconstruction. Many organizations are looking to information technologies to spearhead this effort. Through the widespread use of clinical applications, enterprise-wide scheduling, and electronic medical records, the healthcare industry will become more reliant on information technologies to survive in an increasingly competitive environment. The development of these exciting technologies and services depends on a crucial foundation: network infrastructure.
