Abstract

I wanted to use the car Friday night to go see Uncle Will and to make sure I could use it Saturday to get his money. And I wanted Ma to promise me use of the car Friday night and Saturday in front of Pa. I knew if she said I could use it with Pa sitting there, he wouldn’t let her back out. Once again, when I asked her she laid down the same conditions, “You got to take the car over to Bud Cole’s and fill it up. And you’ve got to have it back here ready to go Sunday morning full of gas. You’ve done enough traveling this week, so don’t even ask me to go along with us.”
