Generalized Approach: Communications

Abstract

This chapter deals with the problems of design of detectors constructed on the basis of the generalized approach to signal processing in noise in communications. In practice the parameters of communication channels are considered as stochastic functions varying in time. So, for example, the amplitude of the signal at the input of receiver is a stochastic function of fading in the communication channel. This fact is also true for other parameters of high-pass signals like the frequency and phase of the signal.
