Abstract

In patients who have osteoarthritis of the medial compartment of the knee in association with genu varum, a high tibial osteotomy remains an important surgical option. The clinical outcome at 10 years continues to be favorable in more than 70 % of the patients if the frontal angular malalignment has been corrected to 3–6° of valgus.
