Abstract

The aim of this study is to explore the health-related quality of life (HRQOL) among older nursing home residents in China and compare it with urban community elderly people. The respondents provided demographic information and assessments of HRQOL were taken of the SF-36 Health Survey. The mean SF-36 scale scores differed markedly between the nursing home residents and urban community elderly people, with the nursing home residents generally scoring lower. Compared with urban community elderly people, nursing home residents have lower HRQOL.
