Abstract

This case showcases the use of the MitraClip in a patient with degenerative mitral regurgitation due to a prolapsed A2 segment. Although technically successful, the procedure was complicated by the development of mitral stenosis which worsened with time after the procedure. The operators proceeded to perform careful balloon valvuloplasty of each orifice of the dual-orifice mitral valve with some improvement in gradient.
