Abstract
Telemedicine is emerging as a critical solution to some challenging problems of our current health-care system: access to care, cost-effective delivery, and distribution of limited providers. With Internet connectivity and decreasing computer costs, online health-care services are increasingly available. Now, more than ever, patients expect personalized connectivity and communication with health-care providers along with self-service access to their personal health information. Teleservices and e-Health are therefore being deployed to provide medical management to consumers of various ages and health statuses through secure e-mail, websites, and online home medical devices. This chapter describes the application of Return on Investment (ROI) models to shape Teleservices and e-Health.
