Abstract
The case of a 14-year-old boy with a 3-year history of palpitations and shortness of breath is described. His symptoms were thought to be due to anxiety, and he underwent inpatient psychiatric therapy. Eventually an ECG was performed as part of a screening programme and was recognised to be abnormal. Subsequent investigations confirmed permanent junctional reciprocating tachycardia. The child underwent radiofrequency ablation and was cured.
