Multi-Location and Two-Echelon Inventory Systems

Abstract

In this chapter, we are going to study the applications of Markovian queues in supply chain problems. The first model is related to an interesting application of the MMPPs in multi-location inventory systems. The second model is a two-echelon inventory system. The inventory models studied here are make-to-order type which is different from those manufacturing systems studied in previous chapters. This means that when queuing network is applied to modeling the inventory system, the waiting spaces in the queue are not inventories to be held but they are the orders to be satisfied.
