Abstract

There is growing evidence1–5 that an impairment of fibrinolysis increases the risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). Thus, fibrinolysis has been reported to be reduced in survivors of an acute myocardial infarction1 and in patients with angiographically documented coronary atherosclerosis.2
