Why do Women Normally Re-enter the Work Force?

Abstract

According to statistics quoted at a recent conference, 51% of women return to a different job after a career break and 63% of women in the 25–45 year age group work. Figure 1 shows the percentage labour force participation of females in EEC countries in 1986 [EEC 89].
