Ocular Inflammation

Abstract

This chapter deals predominantly with inflammatory disease in the eye as it is seen in surgical enucleation specimens. The various operative procedures used for the treatment of glaucoma, cataract and retinal detachment are complicated by secondary exogenous infection in a small percentage of total cases treated, but the numbers are significant in terms of specimens received. Cases of non-surgical trauma also add to the numbers in the index files.
