Shading Models

Abstract

In many cases the standard plastic-like shading model will suffice, at least during initial shader development. As you progress, however, you’ll wish to refine the way light interacts with your surface. RenderMan allows you to interrogate each of the lights in the scene, and hence shade your surface in any way you feel is appropriate.
