Abstract
We begin with Simson’s Preface, in which he describes the background to his work and outlines its contents. This is followed by a set of definitions, which includes a statement of what Simson understood by a Porism. Next Propositions 1–6 provide simple illustrative examples. Finally we have Pappus’s description of the Porisms, which Simson has taken from Halley.
