Abstract

DESKS is an integrated software package designed to support the development of advanced knowledge based systems, including expert systems and other AI applications. It provides system designers with an interacting set of sophisticated tools and facilities to assist in the development process. This paper discusses the aims and achievements of DESKS, and chronicles the design and construction of the package.
