Surgical Treatment of Pancreatic Disease in Childhood

  • Chapter
Pancreatic Disease

Abstract

A wide range of congenital, inflammatory and neoplastic aetiologies may be implicated in a group of “surgical” disorders of the pancreas in childhood (Table 1). All of them are unusual and because of their rarity diagnosis is often delayed. Consequently the morbidity associated with many of these conditions can be severe.
