Abstract

No nationwide registry exists for the treatment of testis tumours in the United States. The American Cancer Society estimates that in 2001 there will be 7200 new cases of testicular cancer and 400 deaths attributed to testis cancer [1]. Because testis cancer is a relatively rare tumour, a few referral centers in the United States provide the bulk of surgical care for these patients. As mentioned, because no nationwide registry exists for the treatment of these patients, the material presented herein is based upon abstracts and presentations from referral centers and the experience of the authors from Indiana University.
