Summary

This introduction deals briefly with the plant and production structure of the ILVA Slabs and Coils Segment in Taranto and the characteristics of the general purpose steel flat product market. I will then describe our old management model and indicate its inadequacy with respect to market requirements, and illustrate the methodological and real changes introduced by the new management model.

After highlighting the new way of interpreting the role of the Information and Automation Systems Division, I will indicate the modifications made to the Information System for Production Planning and Control in order to adapt it to the new management model and the modifications implemented in the short term.
