Abstract
An analogy has always been drawn between the reaction following injection sclerotherapy for varicose veins and superficial thrombophlebitis. However we know that the symptoms following sclerotherapy are far less than those associated with superficial venous thrombosis. We were aware that the absence of a reaction following injection of a sclerosing drug maybe due to lack of efficacy.
