Abstract
The industrial transformers manufactured by Smit are large and complex machines. Each delivered transformer is unique, made to meet the specifications of the client. Moreover, production techniques change throughout the years. This makes production planning difficult. Since recently, Smit uses neural networks for the calculation. Neural networks yield better results and they require less effort than the techniques which Smit used previously.
