Abstract
Willis defined teratoma as a tumour composed of multiple tissues of kinds foreign to the part in which they arise1. Sacrococcygeal teratoma is the commonest extragonadal teratoma arising from the caudal end of the spine. The incidence is approximately 1 in 40 000 live births2,3. These tumours are most commonly found in the neo-natal period.
