Abstract

William Wadd, the first author of a book entirely dedicated to obesity in 1810, compared the condition and man’s fascination with it, to the highest mountains and the great pyramids: “in vastness lies sublimity.” This explains the phenomenon of exhibitionism and voyeurism around the most obese individuals.
