Abstract
The differential diagnosis of a sensory neuronopathy is short, albeit with a large number of patients falling in the idiopathic category. The commonest causes are paraneoplastic disorders and HIV. Sjögren’s syndrome is rare, difficult to diagnose and to treat. A high index of suspicion for a neoplasm is required and recurrent investigation necessary when no cause found.
