The CACSD Method
The CACSD design method of Boyd et al. is based on translating the control system design problem into an approximately equivalent linearly constrained quadratic programming problem, finding the solution to this using a standard algorithm, and then translating the solution back to give the corresponding controller. The design is specified directly in terms of performance constraints on the closed loop time and frequency domain responses, and a cost function to be minimized.
