Abstract

In this chapter we shall not present a comprehensive guide to building giant program packages, but try to show by means of some simple examples how to make everyday working with Mathematica a little easier. First, we shall show what is meant by rule-based programming in Mathematica. Then we shall show how these methods may be applied to adapt Mathematica commands to one’s own requirements, followed by a section on procedural programming in Mathematica.
