Abstract
While some parallel computer companies have been extraordinarily successful, there have also been some notable failures. The story of ETA’s rise and fall is well known, but other firms have also failed, often despite the high quality of their products. In this chapter we describe some of the most interesting of these, and try to analyse why they didn’t make it.
