Neurological Presentations of General Medical Disorders

Many general medical conditions have neurological complications in the elderly. Neurological symptoms may predominate so that it is commonplace for stroke, epilepsy or other neurological disorder to provide the presenting symptom of underlying disease. In most diseases of the nervous system, therefore, the question should be asked “is this a primary disorder of the nervous system or is it secondary to some other general medical disease?”
