Systematic Reuse: Issues in Initiating and Improving a Reuse Program

Abstract

The Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre at the University of York has spent the past two years introducing a reuse initiative in the Control Systems Engineering department of Rolls-Royce Aerospace in Derby, England. During this time reuse has begun the progression from an ‘ad hoc’ adjunct to the system production process to a systematic, well managed and organised core technique. This paper will explain the key features and pragmatics of reuse introduction.
