Fine Needle Aspiration Biopsy of Urological Neoplasms—an American Experience

Abstract

Applications of fine needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB) to the urogenital system have not as yet enjoyed wide popularity within the USA. This biopsy method may be applied directly to tumours within the urogenital system, or imaging by computed tomography (CT), ultrasonography and arteriography can be used. Specific areas where aspiration biopsy has been employed include the kidney [1–4], testis [2] and prostate [2, 4–8].
