Vasoformative Meningioma

  • T. H. Moss

The ultrastructural features of this group of tumours suggest that they are distinct from other meningiomas and possibly derived from blood vessel elements, such as pericytes, rather than arachnoidal cells. The various different subgroups proposed for vasoformative meningiomas are not clearly defined at ultrastructural level, and there appears to be a spectrum between the relatively well differentiated, or angioblastic types and the more malignant, haemangiopericytic forms.
