Abstract

In spite of the large number of different pathological conditions that can involve the joints, management and treatment are at present less variable. Many conditions such as osteoarthrosis are the end result of a wide variety of initiating factors, and management often has to be based upon relief of symptoms in the absence of a definitive cure. As a result, the spectrum of treatment available is relatively limited.
