Penile Cancer: Natural History and Therapy

  • Chapter
Chemotherapy and Urological Malignancy

Part of the book series: Clinical Practice in Urology ((PRACTICE UROLOG))

Abstract

Squamous cell carcinoma of the penis although uncommon in the United States and European countries is a significant world health problem. The etiology of penile cancer is unknown, but societies that practice early circumcision and enjoy socioeconomic statuses which permit proper hygiene have a distinctly lower incidence (DeKernion and Persky 1978).
