Afferent fibres from secondary endings in muscle spindles

  • A. G. Brown

Abstract

The structure and function of the secondary endings in muscle spindles have been well reviewed recently (Matthews 1972; Barker 1974; Hunt 1974; McIntyre 1974). The reader should refer to these accounts for a detailed treatment, and also to Chapters 11 and 12 of the present work for an introduction to muscle spindle and tendon organ receptors and the problems of selective activation of their afferent fibres (see Sects. 11A, 12A, 12B).
