Abstract
Interoperability and portability of business objects is fundamentally a question of agreed semantics—agreed syntax is of secondary importance. Agreeing common semantics is an architectural issue and involves not only high-level conceptual design but also architectural style. The process of building design offers us a model for developing interoperable and portable business objects.
