Summary

The consequences of imposing various symmetry conditions on the bounds of wavenumber response of interval finite impulse response (FIR) multidimensional digital filters are investigated. For the sake of brevity, discussions are centered around the two-dimensional (2-D) case. However, some of the results arrived at generalize naturally to the multidimensional situation.
