The role of doctors in tobacco prevention

Conference paper

Abstract

Just as a battery of measures is used in a comprehensive tobacco control policy to diminish the use of tobacco, medical doctors should play several roles in their fight against tobacco. Just as no single part of a control policy replaces another, none of the roles of the doctor can be singled out as more important than another. In both cases, it is a question of consistent and comprehensive action.
