Abstract
The neurons, of which there are a hundred billion, are the basic cells of the central neural system. Each neuron receives nervous impulses through its dendrites (receivers) and integrates them so as to provide a new nervous impulse. This is then transmitted to the next neuron through its axon (transmitter).
