Abstract
Electronic banking, remote banking, home banking—whatever term you prefer, each means different things to different people. A withdrawal at an automated teller machine (ATM) may be considered electronic banking by some, others may consider a telephone call to a financial institution’s call center as electronic banking. Still others view electronic banking on a much more complex scale and see it as the ability to access and initiate a wide selection of financial services using a variety of technologies such as ATMs, the telephone, self-service kiosks, and personal computers. Depending on where you bank and in what part of the world you live, electronic banking may assume a different form, combining a variety of services and access devices.
