Abstract
This paper deals with the introduction of Micro Knowledge Management tools and techniques in operational units, and explores human hurdles to this process. A framework based on the context of knowledge interactions is proposed to describe the various types of job design practices that can constrain/facilitate the introduction of Micro Knowledge Management tools. Case studies used to illustrate this framework suggest that the functionality of Micro Knowledge Management systems is also highly contextual. The paper concludes with a typology of these systems.
